Certified Training

The Local Government Center provides several WisLine programs which qualify for mandated training for local officials. Generally it is up to the user to self-certify by providing the relevant state authority with proof (or an affidavit) of participation. At present, the following programs are approved for certified training:

Program Approved by
Specific programs in the Conducting Local Elections series
State Election Board (Government Accountability Board)
"Board of Review" in the Current Issues Affecting Local Government Officials series Wisconsin Department of Revenue

Certified training for the Board of Review is also provided by local government associations (e.g., Wisconsin Towns Association and the League of Wisconsin Municipalities), trade groups (e.g., Wisconsin Municipal Clerks Association), and the Wisconsin Department of Revenue.

If your agency is interested in developing training for local officials to meet a certification requirement, please contact Center director Chuck Law. For any other comments or questions about this web page, please contact Kate Lawton.
