How to use this site

Local Government Center
Citizens and Local Officials Portal

UW-Extension's Local Government Center helps educate members of the public in Wisconsin, in particular locally elected or appointed officials and those who aspire to hold office, about local government structures, laws, and procedures in the State of Wisconsin. Whether you are a high school student writing a report, a resident contemplating running for your town board, an official looking up statutes and procedures, or an educator developing a presentation, we hope you will find what you need here.

We have created this web site to disseminate a large amount of educational material about your local government in Wisconsin, electronically, without print or mailing costs or the time delays that trips to the library or mailing you a bulletin would require.

If you are unfamiliar with our site, you may enjoy the video link at the left, "How to use this site," which provides a tutorial about how to navigate the site and locate materials.

Please let us know how the site helped you, or what we could improve to serve Wisconsin better.
