Looking for Board of Review?
Each year's new version of Board of Review training comes out approximately in April. If you need to train before that, please purchase the prior year's materials. If you can train during the April-May time frame, register using the current year's brochure. Please visit LGC's Board of Review page for more information, including links to materials and streaming "Mock Board of Review" videos.
On September 19th the Local Government Center made a technology change to how we present the Current Issues series of Wisline training. Local Government Specialist Al Probst presented "Developing the Annual Budget" as aWebinar using Blackboard Collaborate. This technology enabled the presenter to be both visually and verbally interactive with the participants while a change in direction in the presentation from strictly discussion budget requirements to an approach more focused on the actual mechanics of producing a functional annual budget gave participants a much more "hands on" feel for the subject matter. An additional capability with this technology is that, as soon as registration issues are concluded, the program will be available for viewing from its archived location at the convenience of any viewer at a computer with Java capabilities. The Local Government Center is now looking into using the same technology for presentations on "The Annual Town Meeting," "Alcohol and Beverage Licensing," and "Board of Review." Look for more announcements on this exciting educational technology advancement on the LGC webpage.
A streaming video recording of this webinar is now available from The Learning Store for $35.
Special Note: Conducting Local Elections
Wisconsin's Government Accountability Board (GAB) will be assuming full responsibility for the future training and education of election officials and clerks. As a result, the "Conducting Local Elections" WisLine series will no longer be offered by the Local Government Center. Recordings of prior WisLine sessions may still be purchased from the Local Government Center as audiostreams via The Learning Store. Future training opportunities will be offered by the GAB. Refer to the GAB website (http://gab.wi.gov/) for more information or contact Allison Coakley, Training Officer, at (608) 261-2033 with any questions you might have.
You can still purchase the recorded versions, including written and audio materials, of LGC WisLines from prior years. If you know the year and series, you may click on the links below. Or to browse all programs, visit Available WisLines.
