Wisconsin Prepares for Spring Elections

‘Wisconsin Prepares for Spring Elections’ was the topic on December 5, 2017 as Betty Grotophorst, Green County Board Supervisor; Jenny Erickson, Community Resource Development Agent at UW-Extension Sauk County, and Dan Hill, Local Government Specialist with UW-Extension Local Government Center were Patty Peltekos’ guests on WORT’s weekday noon radio show A Public Affair.

The show looks forward to the Spring Primary on February 21, 2017 and the Spring Non-Partisan election on April 4, 2016.

The conversation  includes views from listeners as to the challenges for women to run for office.  Jenny Erickson, Dan Hill and Victoria Solomon (Community Resource Development Agent, Green County UW-Extension) have researched and presented information on ‘Women In Government’ across the country this past year.  You can read more about this in the article mentioned, ‘Political Ambition:  Why Don’t More Women Run?’ in the magazine Municipality.  The League of Wisconsin Municipalities magazine is published monthly and the article is on page 6.
